Istarska Supa (Istrian Red Wine Bread Soup)
PREPARATION TIME: 5 minutes
DIFFICULTY: Very Easy
Ingredients
- 500 ml red wine (preferably Teran or Merlot)
- 1–2 slices rustic white bread (toasted)
- 1 clove garlic (cut in half)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- A pinch of sugar
- A pinch of black pepper
Preparation

Toast the bread slices and rub them with the cut side of a garlic clove.

Place the bread in a clay or ceramic mug (called bukaleta in Istria).

Add a pinch of sugar and black pepper.

Pour warm red wine over the bread.

Drizzle with olive oil.

Serve immediately while still warm.
